Introduction to Project and Invitation to Participate

We are seeking the views of Victorian primary school teachers, principals and parents about engaging female primary students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and activities. The project aims assist the researchers understand how primary school girls are engaged in STEM subjects/activities and explores the types of curriculum resources that are needed to support them.

What participation will involve?

We invite you to participate in an online survey. Completing the online surveys will take from 15 to 20 minutes. The online survey will contain a series of questions about STEM subjects/ activities focusing on girls in primary school. The questions will also explore the enablers and barriers to engaging young girls in STEM activities, and your suggestions on how to improve STEM resources tailored for primary girls.

Participant rights and interests

Participation is voluntary. You are free to withdraw from the research study at any time without any consequences. If you consent to participate and then change your mind, you may withdraw at any point without any risk or penalty. If you start the survey and change your mind in the process you can just stop answering the questions, incomplete surveys won't be used in the study.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy and confidentiality will be maintained throughout the research process. Your identity will only be known to the researchers and not shared with anyone else. You will not be identified in the reporting of the research, and any non-identifying comments quoted will be attributed to your pseudonym.
